Understanding how self-perception makes a difference

Can you remember your last birthday?

Did you feel special on that day?

Perhaps you decided that you will be happy no matter what happens.

Have you ever thought about why you feel that way only during your birthdays?

How we feel about ourselves defines our day and the rest of our lives.

It’s impossible to be aware and conscious of our thoughts 100 percent of the time, and self-perception plays a significant role in what we achieve.

In his book, Karma, Sadhguru talks about people being entangled or liberated because of their past, present and future memories.

Most of the time, our actions are driven by our past experiences and how we interpret them in our life.

Sadhguru talks about the story of three rock cutters in which the first one believes he is just breaking big rocks into smaller ones because it’s his job.

The second rock cutter believes that he is cutting rock because he needs to feed his family with the money he earns at the end of the day.

The third rock cutter believes that he is building a magnificent tower that will be remembered for years to come.

Who do you think will be successful in the long run?

Our mindset and perception of who we are, what we do and how that influences us significantly impact our lives.

What if, just like the rock cutter, you could redefine your role at home or work?

What if, just for today, you could believe in yourself like the third rock cutter?

What if changing your self-perception is the only thing that matters?

How do you begin:

  • Practice daily gratitude and be thankful for your experiences.
  • Practice daily meditation to remain relaxed and calm.
  • Practice thinking your thoughts and focusing on what you want and who you are.
  • Practice self-belief by finding a purpose that is bigger than you.
