Everyone yearns to be positive, but when something negative happens, we falter and start thinking about what we don’t want.
For example, when somebody talks about our mistakes and bad habits, we start thinking negatively about them instead of focusing on how we can improve.
Another example could be when our boss gives us negative feedback about our performance, and we start focusing on the boss instead of how we can get better at our job.
Staying positive and focusing on improving ourselves amidst negative feedback can be a difficult thing to do.
Focusing on growth and learning comes with practice and is necessary to stay positive and in the present moment.
An easy way to build the practice of positive thinking starts with understanding our thoughts and emotions multiple times a day.
Changing our habits and unconscious patterns can be problematic initially; hence deliberate practice is essential.
Creating multiple timers and triggers throughout the day to monitor our thoughts and emotions helps create pattern interrupts that can change our default response to adverse events.
In these uncertain times, it’s easy to fall into a negative mindset.
But the power of positivity is always within our reach.
Today, let’s choose to focus on the good and spread that positivity to everyone we encounter.
Let’s make it a great day!
