Being Aware of our Energy Sources

Imagine you are in a meeting that lasts for an hour where the people are quiet and uninterested, and each minute seems like a waste of time.

Now, imagine you are in another meeting where people are enthusiastic and have lots of conversation, and the hour goes by without notice.

Which one would you be interested in attending?

I assume that it would be the second one.

Our energies are governed by the emotions that are prevalent around us.

When things are “positive” and hopeful, we tend to add more energy, enthusiasm and fun

When things are not so “positive”, our emotions are impacted by the environment, and our resultant energy is lower than when we started.

The energy exchange also happens when we speak to someone in-person or over the phone.

Some conversations naturally drain our energy, while others fill us up.

Have you heard a motivational speech that got you excited and pumped up?

Being aware of our Energy sources is essential for our success.

If a conversation doesn’t get you going, then it’s essential to understand what caused the negative drain.

Reflecting on your conversations in the past week, how often did you gain energy versus drain?

What could you do to have a more meaningful and energy-enhancing conversation?

How will becoming aware of your energy sources help you?
