Making our communication effective

We live in an the age of information and knowledge explosion where everything we say can be interpreted in hundreds of ways.

What we see, hear and feel makes all the difference in getting results.

The critical aspect of communication is three-fold, and if we miss either one of them, we will not be able to deliver our message in a meaningful way.

Our body and mind are interconnected in everything. Whatever we think is unconsciously expressed by our bodies.

We have an uncanny ability to read the *visual* signals from people. Watch your favourite television show without sound, and I can guarantee that you will be able to understand the gist of the conversations.

Our communication also banks on the *vocal* aspects. We express our emotions as much in the tone of our voice as we do in our words.

Imagine if you were super-angry and could speak in a funny way like Donald Duck? I bet that remaining angry will be very challenging because our mind and body cannot be in two different states simultaneously.

Lastly, our communication depends on what we say and the *verbal* facets.

Our vocabulary and words are how we express our thoughts and feelings to ourselves and others.

It’s usually said that our vocabulary can make a big difference in how we can communicate.

If we are aligned visually, vocally and verbally all the time, our message goes across quickly and effortlessly.

People understand what we say exactly how we want, and we remain congruent in our communication.
